T.I. is covering the newest issue of Giant magazine. On another T.I. note, according to Billboard.com, his album Paper Trail has already sold 357,000 albums in the first three days of it’s release, and is expected to to top the billboard charts next week….READ MORE HERE. Paper Trail is definitely my favorite album…period, and I’m sure it will be a contender for Rap Album of the Year at the Grammy’s.

Common is on the newest issue of 944 magazine. In it common discusses why he is voting for Obama, and how important this election is.

Recently Beyonce, Jay-Z, and Kanye (all known by first names) announced their upcoming albums. Beyonce announced that her 3rd solo album will be released on November 17th. Two singles are already ready to impact radio on October 7th. One entitled Single Ladies and the other “If I Were A Boy” which a video is being shot for in New York.  After Beyonce has all her shine next in line is Kanye who will be releasing his album a MONTH later, December 16th to be exact. His 4th solo album will be 808’s and Heartbreak and here is the cover art for the first single:

“Love Lockdown” was premiered at the 2008 VMA’s and should be available on iTunes this week. But wait the trilogy would not be complete without Jay-Z.  Jay is completing a trilogy of his own with his next album The Blueprint 3. Of course the first single was produced by Kanye and “Jockin Jay-Z (Dope Boy Fresh)” was premiered on Kanye’s New York stop of the Glow In The Dark Tour.

The hit single “Swagga Like Us” which features and is produced by Kanye West, will be on both T.I.‘s Paper Trail and Jay’s The Blueprint 3. Sources say that Jay-Z will be releasing his album in December or January right after Kanye’s.

THIS IS A DAMN TAKEOVER!

THIS IS A POLITE WARNING:

GET WITH IT OR GET LOST!

Dope! News: 50 Cent & T.I. Land MTV Reality Shows

Posted in Dope! News with tags , on May 29, 2008 by simplydope

Well it looks like T.I. and 50 will be joining the likes of The Hills and The Real World. That’s right, according to Billboard.com, T.I. and 50 have landed separate reality shows.

Rapper T.I. is turning his legal woes into an eight-episode MTV documentary series. Ish Entertainment will follow the hip-hop star while he performs more than 1,000 hours of community service before starting a one-year prison sentence on weapons charges next spring, according an Atlantic spokesperson.

Cameras have already been shooting for his show and it is scheduled to air after he enters prison in 2009

50 Cent is also coming to MTV with his new reality show. His will be a blend between Ultimate Hustler and The Apprentice:

The untitled 50 Cent project is an elimination reality show following 16 contestants as they compete to learn and master the skills that took 50 Cent from the streets to corporate America. The rapper will whittle down the contestants each week, with one winning a full scholarship to an undergraduate or graduate business program.

I’m glad that the grand prize isn’t money but instead an education. Thats a nice twist.

Dope! News: Kanye, T.I. & 50 Cent Respond to MTV’s 2008 Hottest MC’s In The Game List

Posted in Dope! News with tags , , on May 27, 2008 by simplydope

Well its about time. MTV caught up with three of the MC’s on the 2008 anual edition of the ‘Hottest MC’s In The Game’ List. Heres some of their reactions:

Kanye West:

“They talk about the [Hottest] MC list,” a sweat-soaked West told the audience at the United Center. “I don’t know if y’all heard about this. But I brought the Grammys home for y’all. And now I brought that #1 spot home for y’all. ‘Cause every time I rhyme, I rhyme for y’all. Everything I do, I do for y’all. Chi-Town in this b—h. Chi-Town on the map. Chi-Town King of rap, and Lupe got my back.”

T.I.:

“I didn’t take it personally, you know,” Tip told radio host Ed Lover last week while visiting the personality’s New York radio show. “I think it had a lot to do with the fact that when they was putting the list together, I didn’t have any music out. At the time when they was judging how hot people were, I was on house arrest.”I ain’t trippin’,” Tip added. “They gonna have to do another list. Jeezy is the homie. Everybody else on the list is the homie. I tip my hat and salute everybody else who made the list. I was just with [Andre 3000] last night. He was like, ‘I appreciate it. I appreciate still being acknowledged, you know.’ “

50 Cent:

“I shouldn’t even be on that list,” 50 said. “To be honest, I shouldn’t even be categorized with them [other MCs on the list]. It doesn’t even matter. Look at the people who are actually creating the list. None of them have made a hit record or [borne] the pressure of doing it.”

50 suggested that MTV News get some MCs to help make up the next Hot List.

“Not necessarily the artists now,” he said. “Artists who have previously created hit records, that understand the art form. You got a bunch of people who, because they interviewed rappers, they feel that they know. Because they read XXL or The Source. They don’t understand.”

Me and 50 agree with each other……I don’t think he should be on the list either LOL. Well at least 50 didn’t start screaming “F@#$ MTV” like he did last year. But I do agree that older veterans in the game should be incorporated like he said. T.I. seemed to appreciate being on the list along with Andre 3000. While Kanye was Kanye who could expect less?

T.I. Responds To Shawty Lo on MTV News

Posted in Dope! News with tags , on May 27, 2008 by simplydope

HAHAHAHAHAHA!

I was laughing just like T.I. was at the end! Why can’t Shawty Lo see how irrelevant he is compared to T.I.? That reaction was the perfect response to somebody like Shawty Lo. You can really see how this really dosen’t even phase T.I., and that he is only speaking about Shawty Lo because Sway asked……While on the other hand Shawty Lo has made 50-11 videos on his own, seeking attention, and looking desperate. Shawty Lo please sit the F@#$ down somewhere NOBODY CARES!

This Sh*t Ain’t Even Over…

I BLAME WORLDSTARHIPHOP FOR KEEPIN THIS MESS GOIN

If you don’t know whats going on click HERE and HERE for updates.

Well it seems like someone has found T.I.‘s high school yearbook photo like Shawty Lo wanted. And it was posted up on WorldStarHipHop.com as soon as it was found. It supposedly shows that T.I. went to high school in Riverdale not Bankhead.

Here comes the drama….

Shawty Lo jumped on WorldStarHipHop to view the image of course with video camera in hand to show him ridiculing T.I. for lying and of course took time to make fun of the picture [very childish].

Vodpod videos no longer available.

And as if that isn’t enough…

The video ended with some old footage of T.I and Shawty Lo performing on stage together. Showing that T.I. does in fact know Shawty Lo and the photo above was also digged up by WSHH.

I am officially done with this mess T.I. has put up one video to Shawty Lo’s umpteenth. T.I. DOSEN”T CARE! Really Lo? Is this how you trying to remain relevant by starting beefs with veterans in the game? Wateva…
